Eucharistic Ministers to the Sick are responsible for taking Holy Communion to those that cannot attend Mass due to age, illness, etc. They might be homebound, or in a nursing home, and in the hospital. We visit UAMS and the VA hospitals on a regular basis.
Through the Pastor, the Bishop appoints a person to this Ministry for a specific Parish for a specific length of time. Any fully initiated Catholic, in good standing, who is a registered parishioner and over 18 years of age may apply for this Ministry.
Attendance at a training session is required. For more information, please contact Laura Humphries in the Office of Religious Education at the Church Office at (501) 663-8632 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Father of goodness and love,
hear our prayers for the sick members of our community
and for all who are in need.
Amid mental and physical suffering may
they find consolation in your healing presence.
Show your mercy as you close wounds,
cure illness, make broken bodies whole
and free downcast spirits.
May these special people find lasting
health and deliverance, and then join us
in thanking you for all your gifts.
We ask this through Lord Jesus who
healed those who believed.
