Deacon Alejandro invites Holy Souls
Parishioners to attend his ordination
to the priesthood on Saturday, May
26th at 10am at Christ the King
Church, 4000 N. Rodney Parham
Road. Also ordinated during that
Mass will be Juan Manjarrez and
Mauricio Carrasco. A reception will follow in the Family
Life Center.

 CD OF THE WEEK
No Escape - From Prison to the Catholic Faith
by Russell Ford
This talk was recorded live in prison where Russell Ford is
serving a 25-year sentence. In 1989 at the age of 31, he
was received into the Catholic Church and has since shared
his faith with thousands of fellow convicts. Mr. Ford is cofounder
of the non-profit First Century Christian Ministries,
which is dedicated to evangelizing prisoners. He is
scheduled to be released from prison in 2012.
We ask for a donation of $3.00 per CD to help continue this
program. Checks can be made payable to the parish.
Donations will be used towards the purchase of additional
materials.

 PARACHUTE WITH THE ANBELS AND
ST. CATHERINE LABOURE CATHOLIC
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
Get ready to skydive into adventure at this year's Vacation
Bible School as we Parachute with the Angels and trust
God as our co-pilot. Children grades Pre-K through 5th
grade will learn all about saints and how to use them in
their lives through fun lessons, music and crafts. New
activities this year include Science Club experiments and
taking care of the body that God gave us through yoga
fun, wellness from Arkansas Children's Hospital, and
learning more about healthy food choices.
Join us June 11th
- 14th every morning from 8:45 to 11:45am. There will be
an evening celebration for the whole family on June 14th.
The cost is $20 per child but no child will be turned away,
tuition assistance is available! Registration forms are
available in the church office or on our website.

ADORATION OF THE BLESSED
Parishioners Needed
Wednesdays: 1:00 - 2:00 p.m.
Holy Souls Church offers Adoration of the Blessed
Sacrament every Wednesday from 9:00am till 5:15pm.
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament is an opportunity
to pray before Jesus Christ in a more personal way.
You can sit quietly and talk with Jesus or you can bring
a book of prayers and read; some books are provided.
The important thing is to come and be with Jesus. Your
presence is needed.
Please call Cindy in the church
office and volunteer to come for an hour each
Wednesday. You never know what wonderful benefits
you will receive.

 LITTLE ROCK SCRIPTURE STUDY
Gain a deeper appreciation for the Psalms at this year’s
Bible Institute June 29 – July 1 at St. John Center in Little
Rock. Abbot Gregory Polan, OSB, from Conception Abbey
in Missouri will lead our weekend of learning and prayer. All
adults are welcome and encouraged to come, but must preregister

The Holy Souls Adult Faith Formation Committee will
sponsor Summer Speak Series featuring Catholic
biblical scholar and historian Cackie Upchurch on 3
alternate Wednesdays beginning in July. A wine and
cheese reception will follow each program. Details will

series of Natural Family Planning classes beginning

 DRIVER'S SAFETY PROGRAM
A driving instructor from AARP will present their Safe
Driving Program at Holy Souls Church for people 55
and over on Thursday, July 12. The
class runs three hours - 9am to 12
Noon. There is a $12 fee for AARP
members and a $14 fee for non-AARP
members. From July 1 through August
31, 2012, all current and retired educators and school personnel are eligible to take
the AARP Driver Safety classroom course for just $5. You will receive a workbook with lots of information.
THERE IS NO GRADED TEST, and you are guaranteed
a discount on your car insurance for 3 years. If you
